Psychology Computing and Research Facilities

The Psychology Department has excellent laboratory facilities for human and animal research. The animal care facilities include those for mice, rats, pigeons, and snakes. The various labs in the department have much state-of-the-art hardware, including several research/photography microscopes (one with flourescent microscopy capability), CCD video camera for image analysis, cryostats, a liquid scintillation counter, and a slide processor.

In terms of computing facilities, the Computer Laboratory for Instruction in Psychological Research (CLIPR) provides centralized facilities for departmental email and mailing lists, data analysis, model development and simulation, and many common computing tasks. CLIPR also manages several computer labs in the department, including a realtime lab for use by graduate students doing research projects, and a lab for undergraduate instruction. CLIPR has a full-time professional staff. For more information, see the CLIPR home page.
